Leading with Confidence: How the UCYMBA Shaped My Professional Growth

I was with the class of 2012-2014 at the UCY MBA Program. I loved it there. My MBA studies fostered my leadership skills and helped me develop a keen understanding of how to handle practical issues such as business strategy, business planning – things that I didn’t know about before, and which have helped me grow as a professional.

From UCY to Google DeepMind: A Journey Built on Lifelong Learning

The University of Cyprus was my beginning and my foundation. Through the collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering and Texas A&M University, I gained my first international experience, which opened the door to postgraduate studies and, later, to my career at Google and DeepMind. Beyond academic knowledge, UCY taught me the importance of lifelong learning. I encourage young graduates—and anyone eager to grow—to embrace curiosity and be comfortable saying, ‘I don’t know,’ accompanied by a genuine willingness to learn. In a world shaped by increasingly powerful AI, this may be the wisest attitude of all.

Mr.  Aristotelis Economides
BSc in Computer Engineering (2019) | Research Engineer, Google DeepMind, USA
