Course overview
The master's program in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE) is both research-based and profession-oriented. The training offered provides students with essential tools for the analysis of teaching situations as well as practical tools that enable intervention in professional sectors related to the teaching process. It also offers training focused on classroom techniques and practices that allow for effective teaching to diverse audiences (children, teenagers, adults).
This master's degree is aimed at students and/or teachers of French as a foreign language working in the public and private sectors, as well as future teachers wishing to acquire specialization in Teaching French as Foreign Language , combined with expertise in education management and administration. It allows students holding a bachelor's degree or equivalent (Bac+4) to specialize in one year and a half.
From September 2024, the Master in Teaching French as a Foreign Language will be offered in hybrid and/or distance learning mode. This new format offers both face-to-face and distance learning sessions (distance learning is online and monitored by teachers).
Entry requirements
The number of places available are announced by the Graduate School with the eligibility criteria for candidates, as well as other required documents that must be attached to the application such as:
- Bachelor's degree from a recognised University.
- Previous University education in a suitable subject (academic background) and grades of relevant degrees.
- Letters of recommendation.
- Personal interview and/or written examination (if provided by the Department's internal rules).
The Department may also set additional criteria and quality indicators such as: (a) number of students' publications in scientific journals, (b) students' participation in seminars, symposia, research programmes, (c) presentations by students at conferences, (d) knowledge of foreign languages, and (e) professional experience, etc.
