Course overview
In this course, you'll explore the connections between what is personal and social, in a global context. You'll gain a greater understanding of the social world and your place in it, recognising that everyday life is filled by human beings interacting with one another, institutions, ideas and emotions.
A degree in Sociology will give you knowledge and skills that are increasingly important in a wide range of professions and occupations. You'll gain a broader perspective for understanding the world as you learn to think critically and creatively, apply knowledge and information, and communicate effectively.
When you graduate, you'll have developed skills in critical thinking, social research, policy analysis, and project evaluation that are crucial in numerous occupations. You could pursue a range of roles in local, state and federal public service, or in welfare, community, industrial and commercial organisations.
