Sandra Mariscal Toro is from Spain. During her time in the Netherlands and studying at Tio, Sandra was able to learn a lot of new things: “I improved my English and also learned a lot of new things about tourism. The classes are very practical and the teachers are excellent."The biggest difference between Spain and the Netherlands? Sandra: “The weather definitely. In Spain the weather is much better.” It didn’t stop Sandra and when asked if she would she recommend this to anyone she replied with a resounding: “YES!”
The German Layla about Tio: “The bachelor course at Tio is not more difficult, but it has been more challenging and time-consuming so far. I really like the personal atmosphere here. At Tio I get a lot of practical experiences because of all the projects and assignments. Also all the presentations are a good exercise and good for your self-confidence.”

Scholarships
Tio offers scholarships to foreign students from the European Union (EU/EEA) and to non-European students for its English bachelor courses. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year.
Tio Super Talent Scholarship
The amount of this scholarship is 50% of the tuition fee per full-degree student. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. It is possible to apply for this scholarship every year. You are eligible if you meet the following criteria:
- You must have outstanding study results.
- You must have an IELTS Academic score of 7.0 or higher, TOEFL iBT score of 100 or higher, Cambridge exam of CAE-A or higher or CEFR C1 level or higher.
Tio Talent Scholarship
The amount of this scholarship is 25% of the tuition fee per full-degree student. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. It is possible to apply for this scholarship every year. You are eligible if you meet the following criteria:
- You must have above average study results.
- You must have an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 or higher, TOEFL iBT score of 90 or higher, Cambridge exam of CAE-B or higher or CEFR C1 level or higher.
How to apply for the scholarships
If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, you need to provide Tio with the following information:
- Send your letter of motivation and curriculum vitae in English to [email protected].
- Attach a letter of recommendation in English from your former (secondary) school.
- Attach a legalised copy of all Higher Education qualifications translated into English.
- Attach a legalised copy of recent mark/grade lists translated into English.
- Attach a legalised copy of your English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL).
Within two weeks of your scholarship application, you will be informed whether or not the scholarship can be awarded. When awarded, the scholarship is paid out as a discount on your tuition fee. All scholarships are subject to availability and only available for non-Dutch nationality students.
Study abroad information
Tio collaborates with various partner universities across the world. During the minor, bachelor students can study at one of the partner universities without a study delay. An exception is the three-year course, during which your studies will be delayed by one to four months dependent on the university selected. Tio has selected the partner universities with care and only selected universities, like Tio, with an added value.
Learning how to singlehandedly resolve problems, meet new people and improve your language skills are the reasons why Tio gives you plenty of space for personal and intellectual growth and international development.
