Course overview
General programme structure You will obtain advanced analytical skills in the core subject areas of geotechnics, structural analysis and hydraulics. Application of contemporary IT techniques to complex problem solving is a theme that runs through the programme. You will also be introduced to the broader issues of project and process management in civil engineering. An interdisciplinary approach to design is fostered through project work. Participants will also have the opportunity to undertake a substantial research project on a topic of their choosing under the supervision of academic staff. A part-time route is possible for study over two years. An optional placement year in industry is available for suitably successful participants.
