Course overview

This programme runs alongside the MA Strategic Marketing and has been created toenable graduates and professionally qualified managers to gain a greaterunderstanding of marketing communications.

This full-time programme is designed for students who wish to develop a managementcareer in marketing with a particular emphasis on strategic communications.

The programme builds students' skills - business, academic and personal - as well astheir understanding of aspects of marketing communications such as communicationsplanning, consumer decision-making and behaviour, traditional and new (interactive)media and leading edge academic ideas to better meet the competitive challenges of achanging marketplace.

The programme also offers the opportunity of a visit to a partner school in France toexplore communications in a different cultural and disciplinary context.

The aims of this programme are:

  • To develop a critical understanding of current theoretical developments in marketing communications which can be applied to organisations and their markets
  • To foster a creative and systematic approach to problem-solving in the area of strategic marketing communications
  • To collate, synthesise and analyse a range of data to help in the solution of marketing-related problems.
