About Corporate Communication and Public Affairs, Postgraduate Certificate - at Robert Gordon University

This full-time course in corporate communication has been developed in direct response to employers’ needs through close consultation with leading practitioners and professional bodies.

The course provides relevant academic knowledge and practical skills, preparing you for exceptional career opportunities within the corporate communications field. The syllabus combines lectures with practical tasks and offers you the opportunity to apply your learning to the practical working environment through the placement.

  • PR: Theory and Practice

  • European Union and Public Affairs

  • Marketing


Semester 2

  • Critical Approaches to Corporate Communication

  • Political Communication and Public Affairs

  • Fieldwork Placement

  • Research Methods


Semester 3

  • Dissertation


Dissertation In Semester 2 you must present a written research proposal for submission. This will normally form the basis for the Masters level dissertation. You will work independently, but under supervision, to undertake the research and prepare the dissertation.

Entry requirements

The course is ideal for students who possess an undergraduate honours degree in any discipline. Other qualifications and management level experience may be considered with entry being subject to the University's judgement that the person has reasonable expectation of being able to fulfil the requirements of the award.

All international students, for whom English is not their first language, must provide evidence of linguistic ability, by gaining either IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent in TOEFL prior to receiving an unconditional offer of a place on the course.

Placements and accreditations

The required placement consists of four-weeks practical experience within an appropriate organisation.

UK/EU Students

  • New students: entire course £7350 for academic year 2010/11


International Students

  • New students: entire course £8600 for academic year 2010/11
