Course overview
The international tourism management programme provides you with deep analytical skills and prepares you for a true international phenomenon: tourism. Through courses and a learning environment that inspire you to acquire knowledge about the environmental, social, cultural, and economic effects of tourism, you will gain insight into activities and organisations in the tourism industry. Topical focus on hospitality management, events management, destination management, and entrepreneurship in tourism are combined with business courses in e-commerce and marketing. This prepares you for a career in international tourism and marketing-related business activities. The intended labour market is both small and large national and international companies. Throughout the programme, there is an international perspective and you will acquire unique subject-specific skills through study trips, guest lectures, and internship opportunities.
The international tourism management programme offers two different specialisations and you choose which specialisation you prefer during the course of the programme. You can choose either to specialise further in tourism studies or to specialise in cruise management. Cruise management provides fundamental and in-depth courses in tourism studies, certified courses for working on a ship, and a degree in business administration. Cruise management prepares you for work in leading positions at shipping companies and in cruise tourism.
