About Business and Information Systems Engineering, MSc - at KU Leuven
The Master of Science in Business and Information Systems Engineering programme prepares you in both business management as well as information systems within an international context. In our modern society no organisation can function without information systems.
What is the programme all about?
As a business and information systems engineer, you are able to analyse and optimise various business processes, such as marketing, production and logistics, finance etc. As a multidisciplinary, forward-looking manager, you translate business elements into information systems supporting the decision process. You can consider decisions about information technology against the backdrop of the company as a whole, predict their strategic consequences, and carry out management duties with diligence.

Strengths
- Boasting a variety of skills, business and information systems engineers are much sought-after by a wide range of companies for various positions and sectors. The combination of business and IT skills is in high demand in our current digital society. Because of this broad background, graduates easily find a job and can also refer to the Career Corner, the faculty’s integrated platform for internships and the labour market.
- The programme maintains close contacts with industry and a network of major companies. The Master's thesis is mostly written in collaboration with a company. In this way, the programme is not only business-oriented, but you also have a chance to tackle real-world problems and explore thework field before you graduate.
- International Experience: In the first semester of the second year we encourage students to study abroad at one of the faculty’s exclusive partner universities, as part of the Erasmus+ programme. Employers value young professionals who are familiar with doing business in a multicultural and multilingual setting. Therefore, the faculty has a strong international focus with a flourishing participation of students in summer schools and exchange programmes. More information on the various international experiences the faculty has to offer can be found on the website of the international office.
