About Indigenous Higher Education Pathways Program, Pathway to Undergraduate Program - at University of Southern Queensland

Indigenous Higher Education Pathways Program (IHEPP) is the perfect way to start studying at university for students who do not have the right school qualifications. This pathway program has been developed to give Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people the academic skills needed for university study. Students will study four courses (subjects), all with an Indigenous focus, to develop their writing, maths, computing and general study skills. There is also an option to gain knowledge and research cultural issues impacting on Indigenous peoples and their history through a cultural studies course. After completing the IHEPP students can apply to study a USQ degree or a degree at another university. The Centre for Indigenous Studies, Education and Research (CISER) will provide students with support at every step. While studying in the IHEPP students are provided with academic, cultural and social support from staff and fellow students. There is free access to printers and computers when students need them in computer lab. This course is also offered by the Open Access College (OAC).
