Course overview

The Bachelor of Social Science (Social Science and History) give students the chance to piece together information from the past and apply it to current events and issues through critical thinking and real-world application. Students will examine world civilisations, historic and contemporary Australia, race relations in Australian history, European and American history and the 20th century. Through this study they will discover the stories behind some of the greatest and most significant events the world has seen. This degree will encourage students to examine the political, psychological, cultural and environmental issues that affected society in the past, and how they can influence the choices for modern society. This degree will prepare students for a range of careers including librarianship, museum consultancy, archival work, media, journalism, public service and (with further study) teaching.
