Western's Bachelor of Social Science allows you to choose your own majors and minors, including Child and Community, Geography and Urban Studies, Heritage and Tourism, Peace & Development Studies, Sociology, Disability Studies, and Criminology & Criminal Justice.You will gain a greater understanding of the social world in three ways: through social theory, social research and the applications of these ideas and knowledge to practice through social engagement. The program caters to individual interests, while also preparing graduates for employment in a complex, culturally diverse and ever-changing social environment. Optional placement subjects provide opportunities to develop valuable work-place skills in research and communication, analysis, data and digital literacy, and community engagement.Emerge with a wide base for understanding issues in the complex, culturally diverse and ever-changing social environment of the 21st century.Create a degree as specialised or as broad as your desired career path.Note: Sydney City start times are March, July and November.Some majors available online.
