Course overview
The Bachelor of Engineering Science will give you the technical knowledge and skills to practice as a graduate engineering technologist. Gain hands-on experience, work with professional equipment and learn the highly sought after skills you will need in industry. As a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering Science, you will be eligible to apply for membership with Engineers Australia as an Engineering Technologist. After gaining experience from working in the field, you can apply for chartered status as an Engineering Technologist. When you have completed the Bachelor of Engineering Science, you have the option to undertake the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and receive the appropriate credit. USQ's Electrical Engineering program gives students the opportunity to get hands-on with modern electronic technology. With practical studies they will work with transmitters, microprocessors, power electronic converters, robotics, fibre optics and motors to prepare them for work out in the field. Electrical engineers design, build and operate electrical devices and systems from small scale transmitters to major projects in the fields of medicine, power and technology. With their graduate expertise, students will be able to secure a career as an Electrical or Electronic Technologist with major power companies including Ergon Energy, Origin and Energex. As a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering Science, they will be eligible to apply for membership with Engineers Australia as an Engineering Technologist. After gaining some experience from working in the field, students can apply for chartered status as an Engineering Technologist.
