Course overview

The associate degree of spatial science program provides students with the theory, methods and practices required by an associate to support a practising professional spatial scientist. To this end the program provides students with a general understanding of the broad practice and knowledge in the spatial science profession and the technical skills to work in surveying. If students are an outdoors kind of person, then surveying might be just what they are looking for. Through the course students will be equipped with the knowledge to apply to new technologies, such as satellite based global positioning systems and geographic information to a broad range of surveying projects including land development and mining. With the knowledge students gained from their associate degree will have the opportunity to begin their career as a surveying assistant, technician or associate.
