Course overview

Our highly flexible and interdisciplinary MRes Medieval Studies programme is delivered by the prestigious Graduate Centre for Medieval Studies (GCMS).

It offers full preparation for PhD research, including assistance with funding applications. Your focus will be on individual research, complemented by field visits and the acquisition of skills which will prepare you for a wide range of careers.

Bring your studies to life through access to University-held medieval objects and manuscript, and receive first-class training in a wide variety of key skills and knowledge. Receive focused support and teaching in small group seminars of around 4-10 students, as well as individual tutorials and one-to-one guidance.

In addition to a dedicated seminar/study/resource room for use by all on the programme, you will have full access to all of the other facilities available to Reading students.
