Course overview
This is an interdisciplinary course, providing an in-depth study of the biological, physical and chemical processes that occur in the marine environment. The course covers both theoretical and practical aspects enabling you to acquire skills relevant to the challenges facing marine scientists in the new millennium. The aim of the course is to develop an integrated understanding of the processes that operate within the oceans and the life that we find there. Course highlights Plymouth has an unrivalled location and reputation as a centre for marine biology The rich, diverse shores and clear coastal waters of Devon and Cornwall are readily accessed for fieldwork and projects Two overseas residential field courses Extensive boatrip facilities for coastal surveys and sampling Strong emphasis on sampling and experimental methods Enriched by staff expertise from a number of internationally recognised research groups.
