Course overview

The scale of modern industrialisation and population growth has given rise to environmental problems of unprecedented complexity. As a result we have the challenge of managing a wide range of problems including toxic waste, air pollution, contaminated land, contaminated water and waste disposal. A high level of resource management is demanded, often requiring improvements to manufacturing processes and in the utilisation of natural resources. The course will enable people to work across the interface between Engineering and the Environment, harmonising the responsibility and statutory requirements for environmental protection with the needs of a modern industrial society.
