Course overview

This programme is particularly useful for physicians who have trained in medicine in a developed country but intend to practise in the tropics.

It is also useful for physicians already practicing in developing countries who require an update on infectious, parasitic and other health problems and for doctors in developed countries who need to diagnose and manage imported infections. It is recognised as fulfilling part of the requirements for the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Certificate in Travel Medicine.


Entry requirements

Each taught programme has different entry requirements. Please consult individual course pages for detailed entry requirements. International qualifications Applications from international students are welcome. International qualifications will be evaluated in line with the National Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) guidelines. English language qualifications The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine’s courses are linguistically very demanding and it is essential that all candidates have a very high level of both spoken and written English. For candidates whose first language is not English, most programmes require a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 OR a minimum TOEFL score of 570 (paper based), or 88iBT.
