PhD, MPhil and Master by Research in Arabic, Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies

Year: 2018/19

Description:

Full-time and part-time study in Arabic, Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies. Study can commence on the 1st of any month.

The entrance requirement for Master's is a BA 2i or equivalent. PhD candidates must already hold or be studying for an MA or equivalent.

Our English language requirement is IELTS 6.5 overall with not less than 6.0 in any component or TOEFL (iBT) 92 with not less than 21 in Listening, 22 in Writing, 21 in Reading and 23 in Speaking.

You will undertake original research under the supervision of one or more academic staff. You will be required to undertake research training offered by the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies and the University. You will write a thesis (PhD thesis length 300 pages or 100,000 words/MPhil thesis length 200 pages or 60,000 words/MA R thesis length 100 pages or 30,000) which is examined by viva at the end of your period of study.
