Research facilities

We have all the facilities you'll need to support your research. We invest millions of pounds each year to ensure we maintain a first-class learning and research environment. Facilities include: advanced electron optics for nano-scale materials characterisation, preparative facilities for making and characterising particulate systems for a wide range of technological materials, pilot scale combustion systems and an advanced energy systems including fusion cells and a combustion CAP suite.

Each offers a wide range of services designed to assist you in developing your career. The range of careers open to you once you've finished your PhD is broad. Our graduates have secured positions with organisations including, among others: BP, GE Global Research, Home Office, Rolls Royce  and Shell.
