Course overview
The new 2-year MChinMed programme with the streams of Oncology*, Gynaecology, and Acupuncture and Moxibustion aims to provide extensive training which covers in-depth theoretical knowledge in the respective stream, offering potential synergistic effect across different streams, particularly concerning the treatment of common and complicated illnesses. Other than the requisite theoretical knowledge of the respective stream, students are also expected to master the diagnostic and therapeutic means of common illnesses, including the potential adoption of integrated approach of Chinese and Western Medicine approach (with the use of acupuncture and moxibustion) in the treatment process. The programme offers two pathways, namely project-based and practice-based, allowing a higher degree of flexibility and catering for different students' needs.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for admission to the courses leading to a taught postgraduate qualification, a candidate:
a) shall comply with the General Regulations;
b) shall hold a Bachelor's degree of this University or a qualification of equivalent standard from this University or another comparable institution accepted for this purpose;
c) shall satisfy any other admission requirements which may be prescribed from time to time for the relevant curriculum; and
d) for a candidate who is seeking admission on the basis of a qualification from a university or comparable institution outside Hong Kong of which the language of teaching and/or examination is not English, shall satisfy the University English language requirement applicable to high degrees as prescribed under General Regulation G2(b).
An application for exemption from the above requirements shall be considered on a case by case basis.
