Programme Aims and Features
The BBA(IS)/BEng(CompSc) programme is designed to give students a unique edge in the IT world by providing training in the fields of both business administration and information technology. It is jointly offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Department of Computer Science, and combines courses in business and computer science.
In the first four years, students pursue a BBA(IS) degree with double-major in Information Systems and Computer Science. After getting the BBA(IS) degree in four years, students can also choose to pursue a BEng(CompSc) degree in their fifth year. The programme is suitable for students seeking a broad education that provides flexibility in their choice of career.
Professional Recognition
The BBA(IS)/BEng(CS) programme is accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE). The programme is also in alignment with the ISACA Model Curriculum for IS Audit and Control. Graduates of the programme qualify for one year work experience toward the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation.
Entry requirements
If you take the International Baccalaureate Diploma, GCE A-level/International A-Level, SAT/AP or All India Senior School Certificate Examination and Indian School Certificate, please take note of the standards as below:
- International Baccalaureate Diploma - 35, candidates should have completed the full IB Diploma, including CAS, TOK, and the Extended Essay.
- GCE A-Level/International A-Level - 3A's, candidates should present at minimum of 3 A-level subjects, excluding English and Chinese language.
- SAT Reasoning Test/ACT plus Writing and SAT Subject Test/Advanced Placement Test - Redesigned SAT: 1350, SAT Subject Tests: 600 in each of the 3 subjects, AP Exams: Level 4 in each of the 3 subjects
- All India Senior School Certificate Examination and Indian School Certificate - 94%, Candidates should present a minimum of 5 subjects in the Grade 12 Indian Board examinations.
