BSc Hons Finance and Investment Banking is an undergraduate degree in the UK recognised by the CFA Institute. Combined with our tailored courses to develop your knowledge of finance, this will help set your career path in banking, investment or trading.

You will study core and optional courses covering topics including financial and management accounting, quantitative analysis and systems, international corporate finance, investment management, and banking principles, practice and regulation.

Employability

We have strong connections with companies in Canary Wharf, one of the financial centres. This offers you networking, mentoring and internship opportunities, making it a perfect location to start your career.

You will have the option to undertake a work placement providing insight and practical skills which employers seek in graduates. Previous students have secured placement years at Barclays, Northern Trust, State Street and Goldman Sachs (global investment bankers).

Youwill connect with employers through our dedicated Business SchoolEmployability Team who focus on developing your employmentskills. They also provide you with CV support and will inviteyou to employment fairs to network with employers and recruiters fromindustries. The team was shortlisted for the Times HigherEducation Leadership and Management Awards.

We are actively improving job prospects for graduatesthrough the support we provide. According to survey findings, 93 per centof 2014/15 Greenwich graduates looking for work were already in jobs or furtherstudy by January 2016.

Professional development

This degree is recognised by the CFA Institute University Recognition Program. CFA Institute exams are considered the gold standard for measuring competency and integrity in investment professionals. This course covers at least 70% of Level 1 of the CFA Program, so you will be prepared to take the exam upon graduation.

Extracurricular activities

Our Greenwich EmployabilityPassport scheme recognises and rewards your participation in additionalactivities such as part-time work, volunteering, student societies or industryguest lectures.

We will encourage you to join the Trading and Investment society and take part in competitions such as the UK Trading Challenge. We are proud that our team of first year Greenwich students won the competition, beating teams from many other universities.

You will be encouraged to enter the university's Enterprise Challengewhich rewards student entrepreneurship and innovation. Previouswinners received a prize of £5,000 for their idea of developing an enterpriseand study hub.
