About Environmental Science, BSc (Hons) - at University of Greenwich

Environmental science is a combination of social, natural and physical science built around the idea of sustainability. This programme will develop your understanding of the physical landscape and how society impacts on the environment.

You will investigate solutions to environmental issues from various perspectives, including scientific, political, legal and philosophical positions. You will graduate with the skills to deal with local and global environmental issues both academically and practically. You will be able to document human impact on the landscape, explore environmental conflicts and issues, develop environmental policy and manage the environment sustainably.

Fieldwork in the UK and abroad

Fieldwork is an essential part of the programme, with trips funded by the Department. Destinations include the New Forest, the Lake District and south-east Spain. As a member of the Erasmus exchange scheme, we have collaborative arrangements with universities in the Netherlands, Italy and France. This will give you the opportunity to study abroad for a period of time. If you successfully complete at least 36 weeks of the optional work placement, you will be awarded the Diploma of Industrial Study.
