Overview of the university

TU Dortmund University was founded in 1968 and offers a wider range of innovative and interdisciplinary research. It has developed a unique profile with a special combination of faculties in natural sciences and engineering, social sciences and humanities. This structure produces new knowledge, methodologies and technical innovations. The university hosts over 34,000 national and international students who pursue Bachelor´s or Master´s degrees at 16 faculties, as well as more than 3,000 employees - 300 of them professors.

Currently TU Dortmund University is ranked #9 in Germany in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Furthermore, TU Dortmund University was recently ranked as #14 in terms of the employability of its alumni.
