Course overview

This three-year course is designed to give you a high level of understanding and technical skills in all the basic disciplines of dental technology. You will get a good background in the relevant material science and learn how to accurately cast dental alloys, make porcelain restorations and create high quality dental appliances.

Is this the right course for me?

As a dental technologist, you will be working as part of the dental team fabricating prosthetic dental devices. Therefore, if you have an interest in oral health and are simultaneously creatively-minded you will be suited to this course.

Based in the Dublin Dental School & Hospital, this course includes lectures and practicals in the basic sciences, and in all aspects of laboratory techniques and technology. In the third year, you will be based in a dental laboratory, both to learn laboratory management and to develop your technical skills.
