Course fee notes

The Student Finance service provides student loans to help pay for tuition fees and the cost of living, depending on your circumstances.

You'll be charged interest on your loan as soon as you take it out, but you only start repayments once you earn more than a certain amount - currently £21,000.

Repayments are based on how much you earn, not how much you've borrowed.

Course overview

This module develops an in-depth critical awareness of the ideology and theoretical understanding associated with health promotion, exploring current policy and practice associated with health improvement and modernising public health.

Research informed key lectures will deliver core content, providing students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and develop conceptual understanding of the principles of health education / health promotion.

Seminars and group learning will be used to facilitate teacher/learner/peer dialogue and inter-professional discussion to further develop and challenge conceptual understanding and engage in critical debate, self-reflection and critical evaluation of changes that can be made in practice.

Directed study provides students with the opportunity to undertake reading, participate in enquiry based learning, address individual learning needs and contextualise learning to the students own area of practice.

A VLE will be used to provide access to online resources, lecture notes & external links to websites of interest.
