Course fee notes

The tuition fee is fully inclusive of all costs: teaching materials, core textbooks, assessments and resits. If you live in England, you may be eligible for a postgraduate loan to cover some of the programme cost. If you are not eligible for a student loan, you will be offered a simple monthly payment plan to spread the cost of your tuition over the duration of your studies.  

A separate application form is not required for a scholarship, as it will be applied once you have received your official offer letter. Please note, scholarships cannot be combined but can be used alongside our Up-front Payment Discount.

Scholarships and Discounts

  • A UK Scholarship of 20% is available for students residing in the United Kingdom, who enrol on the June 2026 intake of our full master’s awards.
  • An Executive Scholarship of 15% is available on the June 2026 intake for the full master’s award.
  • 10% discount for University of Liverpool alumni.
  • You will receive a 5% discount if you choose to pay the full tuition fee upfront.

Whether you’re working in health services, housing, transport, community organisations, governmental bodies, or non-governmental organisations (NGOs), this programme is ideal for anyone looking to advance their career in public health, policy, and planning.

During the programme, you will explore the complexities of health and social systems, investigate options for strategy development, and evaluate potential programme interventions. Working closely with your peers in small groups, you will develop critical skills to assess challenges and opportunities from multiple stakeholder perspectives. Later in your studies, our international community at Liverpool Online provides a unique chance to gain diverse insights into global public health best practices.

The programme is delivered through a flexible virtual learning platform, allowing you to complete each module at your own pace within its designated timeframe. You can also choose specialist modules to deepen your expertise in public health, covering areas such as crisis and disaster management, programme and policy challenges in low-income countries, and health economics and governance.

This programme consists of the following modules. You are required to complete 180 credits to achieve a full Master of Public Health (Online), 120 credits to achieve the postgraduate diploma (PGDip), and 65 credits to achieve the postgraduate certificate (PGCert).

  • Practising and Promoting Public Health in a Global Context (15 credits)
  • Generating and Evaluating Public Health Evidence (20 credits)
  • Integrated Research in Public Health: Epidemiology and Qualitative Methods (20 credits)
  • Leading and Managing Health Systems (10 credits)
  • Monitoring and Evaluation of Systems and Programmes (10 credits)
  • Optional modules (choose two from):

o   Health Protection: Preventing and Managing Communicable Diseases (10 credits)

o   Managing Crises and Disasters (10 credits)

o   Programme and Policy Challenges in Low Income Countries (10 credits)

o   Health, Economics and Governance (10 credits)

o   Global Mental Health: Contemporary Issues (10 credits)

o   Global Mental Health Practice & Research (10 credits)

  • Core research methods module (choose one from):

o   Applied Epidemiological Research for Public Health; or (15 credits)

o   Applied Qualitative Research for Public Health (15 credits)
