Course overview
The Degree Programme Bulgarian Philology prepares philologists (specialists in Bulgarian language and literature) in a wide area of study who can work as teachers at high schools, university lecturers, researchers in scientific institutes, journalists for various mass media, editors and collaborators in publishing houses, librarians, specialists for museums, archives, public institutions, etc.
The Faculty offers full-time and part-time education. As a result of the study the students acquire a teacher's certificate.
The education received is at two stages. The Bachelor's degree is acquired after completing a four-year study and taking a state final certification examination. The students can continue their education for the second - Master's of Arts Degree, which lasts a year and ends with defending a master's thesis.
Entry requirements
1. To have completed secondary education that makes them eligible to continue their studies in higher educational institutions in the country in which the applicants have completed their secondary education
2. In the applicant's diploma for secondary education the grades relevant to the the major applied for are not lower than 62% of the maximum grade in accordance to the grading system in the country, in which the applicant has completed secondary education (i.e. the equivalent to a grade Good 4).
3. To not suffer diseases contra-indicated to the area of study or the profession applied for.
