Course overview
This is a fast track conversion course for graduates from unrelated disciplines who want to become chartered surveyors. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) identified the need in the profession for quality graduates who think creatively and have the ability to lead. We designed this course with this in mind and demand for our postgraduates is high.
The course also meets your needs if you are a professional, working in surveying, who wants to improve your skills and career prospects in commercial property valuation and management.

Professional recognition
The course is approved by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. On entry to the part-time course, or completion of the full-time course, you may register your experience for the RICS’ APC training period.
The personal view
The course started with a team building programme in the Derbyshire countryside. This promoted a supportive atmosphere amongst the students and staff which continued through a hectic and enjoyable year. The course is highly structured and well-balanced between theory and practice. The practical projects and workshops allow development of the key skills demanded by employers.

Entry requirements
A good first degree in any discipline or an equivalent professional qualification. As a full-time student you must take a period of pre-course professional practice before joining. As a part-time student you should be employed in general practice surveying or have substantial contact with a property-related firm. Successful completion of the diploma is required for entry to the MSc.
