Course overview

This is a versatile course which equips you for a career in either residential or commercial property sectors, in areas such as planning, development and management. The course covers a wide range of content, including - property appraisal - building studies - sustainability for the built environment - business planning - law and economics. You also examine real estate environmental, political and social issues. You gain a broad understanding of real estate valuation, economics, management and law. The course also develops valuable practical knowledge and skills in areas such as - referencing property - selling and marketing property - letting residential property - project management. To improve your work performance and help progress your career, the course also develops your business knowledge and skills, such as - problem solving - report writing - communication - working in groups - IT. This diversity provides you with a solid foundation for a career in many areas of real estate practice and in other areas related to planning and built environment. After completing the degree, you may be interested in studying one of our built environment postgraduate courses, which lead to membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
