The Ultimate Fashion Journalism Course

Fashion Writing covers all aspects of published fashion, whether in preparation to become a magazine journalist, reporter for fashion shows, creative writer for brands and agencies, or professional blogger.

Fashion writers are today’s opinion leaders. People like Suzy Menkes (New York Times), Imran Amed (Business of Fashion), Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist), and the young Tavi Gevinson with her own blog, are able to observe the whole fashion system, vivisect a single collection, interview designers and managers, take sides or distance themselves from them, but always communicate with a cutting and singular style that will either sow the seeds of doubt or launch sharable perspectives.

Fashion writers are almost everywhere in the industry: they know how to recognize and describe the latest trends, they work for the press, for marketing and communication agencies, and they are also key players for brands, with many going onto to crown their career through the publication of their own book of memoirs and visions.

This master’s course gives students the chance to discover the world of fashion from the viewpoint of the most important researchers, writers and editorialists.  Participants will understand writing processes by exploring; the subject, elaborating an opinion, and publishing.

Students that already have some fashion experience will benefit as this focus with enable them to enhance their individual profile. While all those who have yet to enter into the world of fashion will also have the opportunity to acquire key competences necessary to succeed in the industry.

This course is very intensive. In addition to frontal lectures students become involved in a final project valid as a personal portfolio.
