Course overview
This course opens up career opportunities in a wide range of industries, from hotels and accommodation to airlines and cruise ships, resorts, attractions, tour operators, and everywhere in between. Designed to build on your foundation or HND qualification, you'll study alongside students from around the world to develop the marketing and event management skills needed to thrive in a hospitality management career. This programme combines practical, industry-focused modules, with a range of optional modules from heritage tourism, urban tourism, viral and digital marketing, customer service management and creative branding, allowing you to tailor your studies to your interests and career goals.
What will you learn?
During your course, you'll study modules such as event management where you'll plan and execute all aspects of an event. Modules in strategic management and tourism marketing will help you analyse complex business challenges and develop potential solutions. This will allow you to build a portfolio for the initial steps in your career and open the possibility for you to take a post-graduate qualification in a more specialised aspect of tourism. Our TMI accredited course has a variety of assessment methods aimed at boosting your employability such as presentations, video storytelling and real-world case studies. As part of the course, you'll also have the opportunity to visit hotels and event spaces, such as the Marriott hotel and StoneX Stadium, home of Saracens Rugby Club, where you can experience what it's like to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
How do we support your career development?
As part of our thriving Business School, you'll be supported by an international team of academic staff with extensive experience across all areas of the tourism and hospitality industry. You'll have a dedicated Personal Tutor related to your course to guide you throughout your undergraduate journey. If you require assistance with academic writing, numeracy, or library skills, we provide the necessary support. Our Student Learning and Graduate Academic Assistants, who have studied your subject, can offer practical advice and provide academic support throughout your studies.
