Course overview

We are one of the first institutions in the world to offer a work-based Building Information Modelling programme. This master's degree is specifically designed to meet the current shortage of high-quality graduate professionals by developing their skillsets in managing projects, global teams, and organisations in the efficient technical, operational and strategic coordination of processes, workflows, people, assets and state-of-the art technologies that BIM requires.

The course is for experienced professionals who manage BIM projects including architects, architectural technologists, construction and civil engineers, mechanical, electrical and plumbing services (MEP) engineers, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) engineers, technicians, contractors, subcontractors, fabricators and manufacturers, Facilities and operations managers (FM & OM) and quantity surveyors.

Why Study Building Information Modelling Management and Sustainable Digital Delivery at Middlesex?

Our programme won bronze in the Hong BIM Awards 2023. The programme is one of the first MSc programmes globally, structured in all its modules to perfectly align with all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our perspective of BIM Management is an overarching umbrella that includes within it design, construction, information, project, supply chain and sustainability/circularity management.

What Will You Learn?

Our approach to teaching is built on professional practice and applied research, and we work with industry leaders to make sure you develop the skills employers need. And develop highly specialised technical, analytical, collaborative, operational and strategic decision-making skills that are needed worldwide.

You will do this by:

• Completing practical live industry projects

• Delivering tasks aligned with all UN Sustainable Development Goals and Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies

• Participating in supported peer engagement and sharing best practice at campus summer school

• Completing a course of study aligned to CPD and professional bodies' frameworks

• Creating opportunities to influence the future of BIM with your thesis.
