Course overview
Ideal for students with some theatre experience who may not have worked on camera, this course explores the essential skills required for film or television acting.
You will work both one-to-one and in small groups with a professional director, learning how to interpret a screenplay and develop credible characters. This process includes devising material, practicing continuity techniques and developing on-screen confidence by learning to watch yourself and others on monitor. The course covers the actor’s relationship to post-production elements of film making such as editing and sound, and also includes additional contributions from visiting professionals. Students’ work is screened at the end of the fortnight.*
*Please note that material recorded on this course cannot be made available for use outside of LAMDA.
