Develop your skill set in more than one subject area and study with a wider range of expert staff on this Folk with Classical combined course at Leeds Conservatoire. You’ll take your Specialist Study modules in Folk and your Specialist Group Study modules in Classical.
Rebellion. Tradition. Activism. Our exciting, inclusive approach to folk and traditional music explores music, stories and traditions from all over the world. We explore traditional music from the British Isles and globally, expanding it through innovative performance, composition, arrangement and recording techniques. From this grounding in folk and traditional music, you will experiment with other genres and cultural identities, forming and joining innovative ensembles, building your repertoire in performance or composition. Your experiences in Folk and Classical will give you the chance to develop new sounds and new ideas.
