Our Biomedical Science: Medical Microbiology with Management Studies MSc course links academic knowledge to the practical applications of biomedical science and management in a business context. It offers a broad understanding of disease processes and their diagnosis, in-depth knowledge of immunology, medical microbiology and research skills, and expertise in management practice.
Our expert teaching staff and guest speakers will help you develop a comprehensive understanding of the organisms, pathology, diagnostic techniques and control of infectious disease in existing and emerging pathogens.
Through the management module, you will develop skills in finance, accounting, marketing, organisational management, entrepreneurship and leadership. As a result, you will enhance your employability and career potential.
You will then carry out your laboratory project in a specialist subject of your choosing, which can be an excellent selling point when looking for a job.
Entry requirements
The typical offer for this course is a 2:2 or above honours degree in biomedical science, medical microbiology, medical genetics, molecular biology, haematology or immunology. Other biology and medical science degrees will be considered on an individual basis.
All applicants must demonstrate sufficient understanding of immunology and either haematology or medical microbiology. Candidates with non-standard qualifications but with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
