Course overview
This degree provides you with the knowledge and skills to work with children in a variety of settings including health, education and social care. It prepares you to work across boundaries, while leading, managing and evaluating projects which make a real difference to the safety, health and wellbeing of children. You will study the health, social and economic factors that impact upon individuals and discover how to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of children and young people. Case studies will enable you to conceptualise situations and make important links between theory and practice, an essential requirement in the workplace. A work placement will provide practical experience and enhance your employment opportunities. The programme will also prepare you for Masters level study in areas including social work or postgraduate teacher training.
