At the moment, the tuition fees are EUR 2,550 per semester, plus a social contribution. As of now the one-time fee for the Master's thesis amounts to EUR 720. Course overview
The distance learning programme “Software Engineering for Embedded Systems” is accredited to award the academic degree Master of Engineering (M.Eng.). The English-language Master's programme has a standard period of study of four semesters (part-time). It is offered in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE).
Objective and Target Group
Software plays a dominant role in most areas with embedded systems (for example in the automotive sector). Businesses are faced with the challenge of tasking experienced engineers with software engineering more and more frequently.
The distance learning programme is aimed at professionals in the field of software development and provides the participants with well-founded theoretical knowledge and the ability to acquire according practical methods, techniques and tools in the field of software engineering.
Teaching-Learning-Format
The teaching-learning-format consists of comprehensive, scientifically sound and practice-oriented self-study materials that have been developed by experts especially for distance learning, an online campus as an interactive learning platform and on-campus phases to consolidate the knowledge that is acquired through self-study in theory and practice. Mandatory on-campus phases take place once per semester at IESE in Kaiserslautern. In general, there is a three-day on-campus phase from Friday to Sunday in the first semester and a one-week on-campus phase (from Saturday to Friday) in each of the second and third semesters.
