Course overview
Led by nationally recognised and critically acclaimed professionals in theatre studies, improvisation, acting studio, performance, Australian theatre, and more, acting at Collarts is different. We keep our class sizes small, allowing for a more personalised approach and ample opportunities for practical experience.
Collaborating closely with students from other disciplines, you'll gain valuable insights into the collaborative nature of the theatre and performing arts industry, preparing you for the real-world challenges ahead.
Entry requirements
Acquiring a spot in our acting course means showing us what you've got! First up, an informal admissions interview where we'll learn about your journey, experiences, and why you're ready to dive headfirst into the world of performing arts.
After this, we want to see your creative flair in action with a performance of a short monologue from a play of your choosing or from the list of audition speeches provided in the audition pack.
There are no cookie-cutter moulds to fit into at Collarts. We're all about celebrating diversity, individuality, and the kaleidoscope of creativity that makes each applicant unique.
English language requirements
Our English requirement is an overall IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent (with no single band score below 6.0) for all the courses, except Entertainment Journalism, where students are required to have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (with no single band score below 6.0).
Applicants may also provide the following as evidence of their English proficiency:
- Results of English subjects in a range of countries’ secondary school certificate, A Level or the International Baccalaureate. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
- Successful completion of an English course at any of our pathway providers.
