About Entertainment Management, BBus - at Collarts
Have you ever thought about working in the entertainment business in the music, film, arts and culture, advertising, marketing or media industry? Do you see yourself working as a Talent Manager, Music Supervisor, Tour Manager, Event or Project Manager, Festival Organiser, Booking Agent, Publicist, Venue Manager or being an Arts Entrepreneur? What about working at a record label or publishing company in A&R, marketing, publicity or digital distribution and giving a platform to new artists? The Applied Business (Entertainment Management) course offers transferable skills across the creative industries.
At Collarts, we have designed our curriculum to equip you with the skills and insights the entertainment business requires, and our course is benchmarked against the world’s best practice.
Our lecturers have extensive experience working within the creative industries and have achieved success such as ARIA Awards, viral placement across Tik Tok, Apple Music, Spotify, sold out tours, and international collaboration with some of the biggest names in the business.
They have also been called upon as industry experts to advise on legislation, to assess state federal grants and present at industry conferences such as BIGSOUND, SXSW, MEIEA and Community Radio Australia Conference amongst many others. Some of our lecturers run their own businesses within the industry, including music supervision, marketing, artist and talent management, publicity and PR, and running their own festivals and events - and they are ready to help you do the same.
Immersive and comprehensive, our program spans business strategy, law, contemporary marketing, economics, finance, publicity, music publishing, entertainment technology and event management. We bridge theory with practice and make the most of our professional networks, including big names like Mushroom Group, Frontier Touring, Live Nation, Premier Artists, Unified Music Group, Untitled, AIR and many more to help you make industry connections and gain real-world experience.
Our students have gone on to build careers at Spotify, Ticketmaster, Sony Music, Universal Music, Rod Laver Arena/Melbourne Parks, NOVA Entertainment, SYNFM, APRA/AMCOS and Australian Radio Network to name a few.
As part of the course, you’ll get the opportunity to participate in overseas exchange programs with Drexel and Belmont Universities in the US, along with scholarship opportunities at BIGSOUND music industry conference in Brisbane. Collaboration is key at Collarts, so you’ll work closely with students from other courses to gain a well-rounded understanding of the entertainment industry.
