Course overview
The Higher National Diploma in Photography course at the City of Glasgow College is a popular two-year study option for those people who have already started their photographic experiences through full time or part time courses, such as NC/ NQ Photography, Higher Photography and evening or weekend classes.
It allows you to expand upon your existing photographic skills and takes you beyond the basics during your first year of study, introducing a range of specialist techniques and genres, which you will probably not have experienced before. During the second year, you will add to your experience, building skills and knowledge while focussing on the areas of the creative industries you might wish to work in after your studies.
The course is hugely practical, with project work making up a large part of assessments, allowing you to expand upon both your technical and creative knowledge while practicing what you have learned. An important part of your experience will be working independently to complete project work, managing your time and workload, while being supported by a broad range of experienced staff in using a range of photographic equipment within City of Glasgow College
