Course overview
This course will help you develop woodworking skills which will be used in the manufacture of different kinds of furniture. You will learn modern and traditional jointing techniques and apply these skills in the creation of a small table with drawer.
What you studyYou will learn about the range of joints in furniture manufacture including dovetail, mortice and tenon, dowel and biscuit.
After the course CareersPossible articulation onto NC Furniture or HND Furniture Restoration or Craft.
Teaching How the course is taughtMainly practical based in cabinet workshop. Students will be trained in the safe use of a modern well-equipped workshop.
