Overview of the university

BESIGN The Sustainable Design School, located in the stunning area of Nice & Côte d’Azur, offers one Bachelor (3 years) and one Master (2 years) programme.

- Institutional Bachelor degree “Assistant Designer in Sustainable Innovation” with three options:

  • Sustainable Product Design
  • Sustainable Interior Design
  • Sustainable Fashion and Apparel Design

- Master degree with RNCP level 7 certification “Designer in Sustainable Innovation”.

On all levels the teaching is fully in English, allowing non-French speakers to become part of the learning experience at BESIGN School. The ratio of international students is over 30%.

Thanks to the international identity of BESIGN School students learn to consider complex problems and ideation processes.

The learning focus is on sustainability as a central driver for creative solutions. This requires a high level of awareness, engagement and foresight. It genuinely means that the students learn getting involved to the design process and designing through the perspective of human values.

The RNCP certification demonstrates that the curriculum at BESIGN School is highly adapted to the requests of the job market.

BESIGN school operates the curriculum in collaboration with partner companies, NGO’s and communities. Students get to do two different partner institution projects per year.

Accommodation

Students at BESIGN School have a large choice of student accommodation available at Cagnes sur Mer and Nice. BESIGN School students benefit from an agreement for special conditions with a private student residence at 10 minutes from campus. Students with low income may have a room at the public student residence from the Crous (limited rooms). 

The school provides various contacts to local landlords renting out flats and studios. The city of Nice is a vibrant town with a large number of student residencies and shared flats. 


Study abroad information

BESIGN School students have the possibility to take part at an international exchange programme at one of our 17 partner institutions. The exchange semester takes place in the third year of the Bachelor degree or in the first year of the Master degree for students who have done the full curriculum at BESIGN School.  

BESIGN School receives in average 5 to 10 exchange students per semester from the different partner institutions, enhancing the international ambiance in the school.
