About Criminology and Criminal Justice and Italian, BA (Hons) - at Bangor University

This degree course offers the opportunity to study Italian and another major subject. It will provide you with advanced skills in the Italian language and a broad range of specialised and detailed insights into the culture, society and history that go with it. The Italian aspect of the course has language at the heart of it, with core modules developing the key oral, aural and written skills every year. These modules also foster cultural awareness, which you will need for your year abroad, and later on, for the world of work.

The Criminology and Criminal Justice part of the course will provide you with the opportunity to study two main subject areas; Criminology and Criminal Justice. Criminology examines theories and evidence relating to crime, criminals and victims, while Criminal Justice studies explore the various responses to crime, and victims, from informal to formal legislative measures of social control and crime prevention, and examine the way in which the criminal justice system works - from policing through to imprisonment.
