The MSc Smart Manufacturing at Aston University prepares you to harness data, automation, and intelligent technologies to shape the factories of the future. Designed with industry and in collaboration with the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Institute of Technology (GBSIoT), this course equips you with the expertise to develop advanced, sustainable and efficient manufacturing solutions.

You’ll explore the latest concepts in digitalisation, automation, robotics, machine learning and smart sensors, applying your knowledge to real-world challenges through hands-on projects, case studies and lab work. With access to cutting-edge facilities, including Europe’s largest cyber-physical lab and advanced 3D printing suites, you’ll gain the technical and professional skills needed to lead innovation in Industry 4.0.

You can also choose to extend your studies through the Professional Practice route, gaining valuable experience in industry, research or international collaboration.
