Cyprus Student Visa Process and Fees for International Students

Students from non-EU countries will generally need to apply for a student visa to study in Cyprus. The process starts with securing admission to a Cypriot university. Upon receiving your acceptance, you will need to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your study period. The exact amount may vary, but students are typically required to show they have access to at least €7,000 per year, which is considered adequate to cover living expenses in Cyprus.

International students can apply for a student visa through the Cypriot embassy or consulate in their home country, providing the following documents:

  • A letter of acceptance from a Cypriot university confirming your enrolment in a full-time course
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover your tuition fees and living expenses
  • Evidence of suitable accommodation in Cyprus
  • A clean criminal record certificate
  • A medical health certificate
  • A valid passport and passport-sized photographs

The visa application fee for a Cyprus student visa can vary but is typically around €60. It’s important to apply well in advance of your intended travel date to Cyprus, as processing times can vary.

Upon arrival in Cyprus, students may need to undergo a medical examination locally and submit their biometric data for the issuance of a Temporary Residence Permit, which is required for students intending to stay for longer than 90 days.

Cyprus Student Visa Work Regulations

Cyprus offers limited opportunities for international students to work while studying. You will be allowed to work part-time for up to 20 hours per week after your first year of studies, subject to certain conditions and approvals from the Cyprus immigration authorities.
