Bulgaria Student Visa Process and Fees

Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial means to support their stay, as determined by the Bulgarian embassy. This is usually based on minimum subsistence requirements for living costs during the period of study, in addition to tuition fees.

You should apply for the D-type visa at the Bulgarian embassy or consulate in your home country, providing:

  • An official letter of acceptance from a Bulgarian university confirming enrolment in a full-time course
  • Proof of sufficient financial means to cover tuition fees and living expenses
  • Evidence of accommodation arrangements in Bulgaria
  • Valid health insurance for the duration of your stay
  • A valid passport and recent passport-sized photographs

The visa application fee for a D-type visa is typically around €100 to €120, although this may vary depending on updates and local embassy requirements.
