Studying business abroad

What is business?

Business is the study of how companies and organisations operate, make decisions, and create value in local and global markets. It covers a wide range of topics including management, marketing, finance, economics, and entrepreneurship. Business students learn how organisations function, how markets work, and how strategic decisions affect growth and sustainability.

The subject draws on knowledge from economics, psychology, mathematics, and social sciences. As a business student, you will explore how companies are structured, how they compete, and what strategies can drive success. Your studies may take you from classrooms and case studies to company visits and practical projects.

Why study business abroad?

Studying business in a different country allows you to experience international markets and business practices first-hand. You might analyse emerging markets, visit corporate headquarters, or see how local regulations shape companies’ operations. These experiences give you a global perspective that goes beyond textbooks.

Learning in another country also helps you develop cross-cultural communication skills and build international professional networks. You will have the chance to collaborate with students, professors, and business professionals from diverse backgrounds, which is highly valued in today’s global economy.
