Course overview

The Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Supply Chain Management is designed to provide students with an understanding of the systems and decision-making required for a successful career in the supply chain management field.

Students will gain specialized knowledge in the components of the supply chain from purchasing through sales and distribution in a context of using information technology to achieve strategic and organizational objectives. Topics include how to improve speed to market; enabling online purchasing/supply chain functions, production, distribution and logistics systems; inventory management; enterprise system evaluation and supplier selection; financial considerations; outsourcing and partnership options; competitive bidding and negotiation; contracts; client service and satisfaction issues. Student will learn about the design of logistics networks and the management of transportation infrastructures.

The specialization culminates in a Capstone course, in which students will work in teams to develop an executable supply chain strategy and implementation plan for a company who is seeking to enter a new foreign market.

Courses throughout this specialization are offered fully online, and are also available through a flexible on-campus delivery option in Vancouver, British Columbia. Students are not required to choose one mode of delivery over the other, but may work with a Program Advisor to design a plan of study to fit a preferred learning style.
